LUXE GETS WACKY

A favorite blog of mine recently covered nail artist Sophy Robson's newest creation, and I loathe it. As if luxury wasn't democratic and logo driven enough already, lets just slap some logos on our nails too! What's next logo'd lipstick? I mean really... AWFUL

MOROCCO-LA MAMOUNIA

The legendary Moroccan Palace, La Mamounia is sheltered within the walls of the old city. It is a haven for relaxation under the sun of Marrakech. La Mamounia first opened its doors in 1923 and remains, to this day, the most celebrated hotel in North Africa: the opulent elegance of its interior is more than matched by the discreet attentiveness of the service. Everything at this palace is extravagant to say the least. While enjoying the pool we enjoyed complementary ice cream, with home-made cones by a bike trolley!!

Many celebs have enjoyed this place, including its re-opening last November. Lately I have noticed many more periodicals shooting in Morocco and La Mamounia always makes their list. Net-a-Porter recently did a whole magazine dedicated to "Gypset" fashion, all shot amongst the meticulously crafted lanterns and moroccan tile.

If you ever find yourself visiting Morocco-and I hope you do-I recommend saving money and staying at a local riad. Dar Jaguar is a fabulous little retreat right off the souks. I also recommend you hire a guide, tour the souks, indulge yourself with mint tea (Moroccan whisky), drive through the Ourika Valley, and visit a hammam. And if you really want to live the lavish life, get a day pass to the La Mamounia pool and spa, its 50 euro but worth every penny!
